David Simmonds FCG HKFCG is the Chief Strategy, Sustainability and Governance Officer for CLP Holdings Limited. He is responsible for CLP Group strategic planning and the strategy agenda as well as driving the Group’s sustainability agenda and ensuring that it is embedded into the business.

Mr Simmonds is also responsible for managing the investments and ventures that help support CLP’s growth strategy, the Group’s investments in South East Asia and Taiwan and the Group’s property development activities.

In addition, Mr Simmonds is the Group General Counsel & Company Secretary of CLP Holdings, responsible for the provision of legal, corporate secretarial and insurance services across the Group.

Mr Simmonds is a President of The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKCGI) and is a Fellow of both The Chartered Governance Institute and HKCGI. He is also a Board Director of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Macau and a member of The Asia Society.

Mr Simmonds holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne.

Mr Carlson Tong GBS JP (Guest-of Honour)

Chairman, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) 

Carlson Tong GBS JP is Chairman of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited.

Mr Tong is also an Independent Non-Executive Director of MTR Corporation Limited, Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited and the Hong Kong Investment Corporation Limited; and a director of the World Federation of Exchanges.

He was Chairman of KPMG China and Hong Kong from 2007 to 2011, and was Chairman of the Asia-Pacific region and a member of KPMG’s global board from 2009 to 2011. He was also an independent non-executive director of Standard Chartered PLC from 2019 to 2024.

Mr Tong has been actively involved in capital markets throughout his career, with deep expertise in corporate governance and regulatory compliance. He served as a member of the Main Board and Growth Enterprise Market Listing Committee of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited from 2002 to 2006, before becoming the chair from 2006 to 2008.

Mr Tong was appointed Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission from 2012 to 2018. He oversaw the launch of several major policy initiatives during his term, including the introduction of the landmark Stock Connect programme and the mutual recognition of funds between Mainland China and Hong Kong.

Mr Tong has also been devoting his time to the local community, and was very active in Hong Kong’s education and youth sectors. He was Chairman of the English Schools Foundation, the Hong Kong Sports Institute and the University Grants Committee of Hong Kong.

Mr Tong is a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He received the 2022 ICAEW Outstanding Achievement Award, and was awarded an honorary Doctor of Business Administration by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, as well as an honorary Doctor of Social Sciences by the Education University of Hong Kong.

Mr Tong was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star and the Gold Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in 2014 and 2019, respectively.

Mr Peter Greenwood MA FCG HKFCG

Event Chair

Peter Greenwood MA FCG HKFCG holds a Master of Arts degree in law from the University of Cambridge and a diploma in German law and legal system from the University of Tuebingen and the Justice Ministry of North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2006, Mr Greenwood completed a Master of Arts degree in War Studies from King's College, London University. He is a solicitor in England and Wales and in Hong Kong, as well as being qualified as an avocat in France.

Mr Greenwood was admitted as a Fellow of The Chartered Governance Institute (CGI) and The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKCGI) in 2001. He was a representative of HKCGI on the International Council of CGI from 2018 to 2022 and Chairman of its Thought Leadership Committee from 2019 to 2022. Since 1997 he has served on various committees and panels of HKCGI. He has been a member of the Technical Consultation Panel since 2006. He has been the Chairman of HKCGI’s biennial Corporate Governance Conference for many years.

Mr Greenwood served on the HKSAR Government’s Standing Commission on Company Law Reform and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange’s Listing Committee.

From 2007 to 2013, Mr Greenwood was the Group Executive Director – Strategy of CLP Holdings, one of the largest investor-owned companies in the Asian power sector. Prior to retiring in 2013, he had been the Company Secretary and Corporate Counsel of CLP Holdings since 1996.

Before joining the CLP Group in 1995, Mr Greenwood was a senior in-house with the Provisional Airport Authority, Hong Kong, and prior to that was in private practice as a solicitor with leading corporate law firms in London, Hamburg, Hong Kong and Paris.

Mr Mohan Datwani FCG HKFCG(PE) 

Deputy Chief Executive, HKCGI

Mr Mohan Datwani FCG HKFCG(PE), Solicitor, is a Deputy Chief Executive of The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute

Mr Datwani was an owner of a renowned US international law firm, where he was responsible for initiating a book, carrying out management duties, and engaging in transactional, advisory, and litigation work in Hong Kong and the US with his team. His work included investigating into, unraveling, and obtaining a multibillion-dollar judgment in an international fraud case among other market transactions involving non-performing loan portfolio sales and major infrastructure and real estate development projects.

Mr Datwani joined a client as general counsel and senior management of a publicly traded firm. He managed multi-national operations, including governance and cultural challenges. He then made the decision to promote good governance based on his practical experiences, business acumen, and legal knowledge. He is currently the Deputy Chief Executive of The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKCGI) to represent Chartered Secretaries and Chartered Governance Professionals in Hong Kong and China.

In addition to his day-to-day managerial duties at HKCGI, Mr Datwani, a thought leader, develops practical advice and conducts research to advance good governance. Additionally, as a member of the global governance profession, he collaborates with CGI, where HKCGI originates, on research projects and makes contributions to global thought leadership initiatives.

In order to offer viewpoints on law, governance, and management in the public sector, Mr Datwani also served on a number of government boards. He was honoured as a Director of the Year (2018) by the Hong Kong Institute of Directors for his efforts with the Equal Opportunities Commission.

Mr Fred Lam Tin-fuk GBS JP

Chairman, Airport Authority Hong Kong

Fred Lam Tin-fuk GBS JP was appointed Chairman of the Board in June 2024. Mr Lam is a Member of the World Board and Asia-Pacific Regional Board of Airports Council International, Member of Lantau Development Advisory Committee. He was Chief Executive Officer of Airport Authority Hong Kong from October 2014 to May 2024 and Former Executive Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

In 2007, Mr Lam was named "Director of the Year" by the Hong Kong Institute of Directors in the category of statutory and non-profit-distributing organisations. In 2011, he was given the Peace through Commerce Medal from the United States Government in recognition of his leadership role in boosting US exports to, and through, Hong Kong. In 2019, he was elected a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and received the Executive Award in the DHL/ SCMP Hong Kong Business Awards.

Mr Frank John Sixt

Group Co-Managing Director and Group Finance Director, CK Hutchison Holdings Limited

Mr Frank John Sixt, aged 72, has been a Non-executive Director of CK Hutchison Holdings Limited ("CKHH") since January 2015 and was re-designated as an Executive Director, Group Finance Director and Deputy Managing Director of CKHH in June 2015. Effective 1st April 2024 Mr Sixt was appointed as Group Co-Managing Director of CKHH. He has been Chairman of the Sustainability Committee of CKHH since June 2020. Mr Sixt was an Executive Director of Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited since 1991 and became a Non-executive Director in 1998 until June 2015. He was an Executive Director of Hutchison Whampoa Limited from 1991 to 2015 and Group Finance Director from 1998 to 2015. Mr Sixt is also Non-executive Chairman of TOM Group Limited, an Executive Director of CK Infrastructure Holdings Limited, a Director of Hutchison Telecommunications (Australia) Limited and Cenovus Energy Inc., a Non-executive Director of TPG Telecom Limited and an Alternate Director to Directors of Hutchison Telecommunications (Australia) Limited, HK Electric Investments Manager Limited as the trustee-manager of HK Electric Investments, and HK Electric Investments Limited. He was previously a Commissioner of PT Indosat Tbk.

The aforementioned companies are either subsidiaries or associated companies of the Group of which Mr Sixt has oversight as Director of CKHH. He has almost four decades of legal, global finance and risk management experience, and possesses deep expertise in overseeing financial reporting system, risk management and internal control systems as well as sustainability issues and related risks. He holds a Master's degree in Arts and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Law, and is a retired member of the Bar and of the Law Society of the Provinces of Québec and Ontario, Canada.

Mr Sixt is also a member of the Dean's Advisory Council of the Trinity Business School, Dublin, a member of the Rector's International Advisory Council of the University of Montreal, and a Director of the Asia Youth Orchestra, a non-profit organization based in Hong Kong.

Ms Randy Lai

Not only is Ms Lai the first McDonald’s CEO nurtured locally, she was also the first female Managing Director of McDonald’s Singapore in 2010 prior to her current capacity.

Under Ms Lai’s strategic leadership, McDonald’s Hong Kong prides itself as the market leader and the most favorite quick service restaurant brand with the highest market share in the city. The brand has been widely recognized in the aspects of digital transformation, leadership marketing, youth empowerment and operations excellence over the years.

In recent years, Ms Lai has been proactively driving digital transformation, evidenced by over 4 million registered users on McDonald’s app. Now, McDonald’s Hong Kong is the first dining app in Hong Kong and among the highest app order per store per day in the global McDonald’s system.

Mr Hailiang Zhang became our Business Head and Managing Director for Greater China in January 2024, following the merger of Vistra and Tricor - where he'd spent 6 years as CEO for Greater China.

Mr Zhang’s role is to implement company-wide strategic plans that deliver progress and growth across our business in the region - setting up the infrastructure, partnerships and systems needed to maximise opportunities from our merger.

To build and sustain this momentum, Mr Zhang can draw on over 20 years' experience in consulting and the professional services industry in Greater China. As a driven and energetic leader, he has expertise that spans a range of fields including business development, client relationship management, business transformation and operation.

Before joining Tricor, Mr Zhang worked at Genpact Asia, where he established strong relationships with clients and partners, and successfully spearheaded successful business development efforts.

Ms Kate Richdale

Kate Richdale (Hong Kong) joined KKR in 2019 and is a Partner. Ms Richdale serves as Head of Global Client Solutions Institutional Sales & Family Capital for Asia Pacific. She sits on the Asia Portfolio Management Committees across all strategies - Private Equity, Infrastructure, Real Estate, and Credit. She is the Responsible Officer for the firm's Asset Management business and Capital Markets business. Prior to this role, Ms Richdale served as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Strategy & Business Development for Asia Pacific.

Prior to joining KKR, Ms Richdale was at Goldman Sachs & Co. in Hong Kong, where she was chairman of investment banking in Asia ex-Japan, prior to which she was the co-head of the investment banking division. Ms Devyani Daga CFA

Managing Director, Cambridge Associates

Ms Devyani Daga is a Managing Director in Cambridge Associates’ Singapore office.

Ms Daga joined Cambridge Associates (CA) in 2010 as a consulting analyst. She spent a decade in the firm’s London office, working with endowments, foundations and private clients on an advisory and discretionary basis. In 2019, she joined the firm’s Singapore office and works extensively with a variety of institutional investors across the region on asset allocation strategy, manager selection, and investment program evaluation, with assets over $2 billion in aggregate.

Ms Daga is part of the firm’s Sustainable and Impact Investing Council, as a member of the Council’s Portfolio Construction Working Group. She is also part of the firm’s Asia Strategy team which has been established to enhance business initiatives in the region.

Prior to joining CA, Ms Daga worked as a research associate at an equity research firm in India and as an analyst at a boutique investment bank.

Ms Daga received her MSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and her BBA from St. Xavier’s College. She is a CFA^® charterholder.

Head of Stewardship, Asia & Portfolio Advisor, Fidelity International

Flora Wang FCG HKFCG is Head of Stewardship, Asia & Portfolio Advisor at Fidelity International.

Based in Hong Kong, Ms Wang leads the stewardship team covering the Asia ex-Japan markets. She is also the Portfolio Advisor for the Sustainable Asia fund. Before joining FIL, she was the head of Investment Stewardship for the Greater China markets at BlackRock. Prior to joining BlackRock, she led the China and Taiwan Research at Institutional Shareholder Services.

Ms Wang is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council, the independent regulator of the accounting profession in Hong Kong. She also sits on the Public Shareholders Group, an external committee of the Securities and Futures Commission in Hong Kong.

Ms Wang holds a Master of Science in Finance from the Lee Kong Chain School of Business at Singapore Management University and a Bachelor of Art in Economics from Tsinghua University. She is a CFA charter holder and a Fellow of the Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute.

Michael Footman leads the Risk and Regulatory Practice at PwC Hong Kong. Mr Footman has over 20 years of diverse experience working with global financial institutions in an assurance and advisory capacity. This includes advising on corporate governance arrangements, risk management frameworks and regulatory matters.

Mr Footman has spent the majority of his career in Hong Kong and spent 4 years on secondment with PwC Australia where he was based in their Sydney Office. Working in the financial services industry has provided him with opportunities to work and travel around the globe working in many different locations including Chinese mainland, Macau SAR, United Kingdom, United States, India, Singapore and Malaysia.

Mr Footman is active with industry bodies and regulators on industry challenges and pain points. He is a member of the Education and Development Committee of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute.

Ms Julia Leung Fung Yee SBS JP

Chief Executive Officer, Securities and Futures Commission

Ms Julia Leung SBS JP has been Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) since 1 January 2023.

Ms Leung joined the SFC in March 2015 as Executive Director of the Investment Products Division. She became Executive Director of the Intermediaries Division in June 2016 and took on the additional capacity of Deputy CEO in March 2018.

In more than 25 years of public service, Ms Leung has extensive experience in financial regulation, market development and international cooperation.

Prior to joining the SFC, Ms Leung was the Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury from August 2008 to December 2013. Before that, she served at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority for 14 years, spending the last eight years as the Executive Director responsible for financial cooperation with Mainland and other international regulators. Currently, she is the Vice President of the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers and a council member of the Treasury Markets Association.

Ms Leung graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and earned a master's degree from Columbia University in the City of New York. In 2014, she authored a book on how Asia has surmounted various financial crises.

Dr Kelvin Wong SBS JP FCG HKFCG is the Chairman of the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council.

Dr Wong is an Executive Director and a Deputy Managing Director of COSCO SHIPPING Ports Limited and an Independent Non-Executive Director of two listed companies in Hong Kong. He is also the Chairman of the Corruption Prevention Advisory Committee and a member of the Advisory Committee on Corruption of Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC).

Dr Wong was a Non-Executive Director of Securities and Futures Commission (2012- 2018), the Chairman of Investor and Financial Education Council (2017-2018), the Chairman of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors (2009- 2014), a member of Financial Reporting Council (2015-2018), a convenor-cum-member of Financial Reporting Review Panel (2013-2016), a member of Standing Committee on Company Law Reform (2010-2016), a member of Main Board and GEM Listing Committees of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (2007-2013), a member of Auditing and Assurance Standards Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (2006-2008) and a member of the Operations Review Committee of ICAC (2017-2022).

Ms Teresa Ko BBS JP FCG HKFCG

Senior Partner, Hong Kong and China Chairman, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer; Vice-chair, IFRS Foundation

Described as “an icon in the industry”, Ms Teresa Ko BBS JP FCG HKFCG is one of the most prominent corporate and securities lawyers in Hong Kong.

Ms Ko is the founding partner of Freshfields’ Asia equity capital markets practice and has helped numerous Chinese state-owned, privately-owned and international companies to list on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKSE), including advising on eight out of the ten largest IPOs in Hong Kong. She also has an impressive record on public and private M&A transactions and advises on joint ventures and corporate governance matters.

Among her many public service appointments, Ms Ko currently serves as vice-chair of the IFRS Foundation Trustees and as chair of its Due Process Oversight Committee. She was also a member of the Trustee Sustainability Steering Committee which oversaw the establishment of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).

Ms Ko was the first female to chair the Hong Kong Stock Exchange’s Listing Committee between 2009 and 2011 and was deputy chair for three years before then. She currently serves as co-chair of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange’s Listing Review Committee and a deputy chair of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC)’s Takeovers and Mergers Panel.

Ms Ko also served as a non-executive director of the SFC in 2012 to 2018.

Amongst her many accolades, Ms Ko was recently recognised as a HERoes Executive Role Model in 2023 for the sixth consecutive year and ranked fifth place in 2023’s list of 100 role models. She was also named in IFLR1000 Women Leaders 2022 - an elite ranking for the most prominent women lawyers globally and in Forbes’ ‘Asia's Power Businesswomen’ list 2021.

Mr Laurence Li SC JP

Chairman, Financial Services Development Council

Laurence Li SC JP is the Chairman of the Financial Services Development Council (FSDC). The FSDC is an advisory body to the HKSAR Government on all matters relating to the development of Hong Kong as an international financial centre. It engages the industry in formulating proposals to promote the further development of the financial services industry of Hong Kong and to map out the strategic direction for the development.

Mr Li’s profession is a practicing barrister. He focuses on banking, commercial, company, and securities law. Prior to being called to the Hong Kong Bar, he served in several positions within the Securities and Futures Commission in Hong Kong and, before that, worked in a law firm in New York.

Mr Li is a Judge of the International Court and Regulatory Tribunal in Doha, Qatar. He is also a Fellow of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, an Honorary Fellow of the Asian Institute of International Financial Law at The University of Hong Kong, and a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Financial Regulation and Economic Development at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Dr Anthony Francis Neoh QC SC JP FCG HKFCG 

Head of Chambers, The Chambers of Anthony Francis Neoh QC, SC, JP

Dr Anthony Neoh QC SC JP FCG HKFCG has been a Fellow of the Institute and The Chartered Governance Institute since 2000. Dr Neoh is the Head of Chamber and Senior Counsel of The Chambers of Anthony Francis Neoh QC, SC, JP. He called to Hong Kong and UK Bar in 1976 and began private practice in 1980.

Dr Neoh extensively contributed to the formulation, implementation and enhancement of good corporate governance and legal framework in Hong Kong and the Mainland China. He has been actively involved in the public service in Hong Kong and Mainland China since the late 1970s.

During his tenure as a member of Hong Kong Stock Exchange Council from 1991 to 1994, Dr Neoh formulated the legal structure to facilitate the listing of Chinese enterprises in Hong Kong. As the Chief Advisor to the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) from 1998 to 2004, he provided valuable advice on the legal and governance structure of CSRC to perform its duties to supervise and administer the securities market.

Dr Neoh was one of the founding members of the International Law Society of Hong Kong in the mid-1980s. He was appointed as an Arbitrator of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (in 1989) and Shenzhen International Arbitration Commission (in 2012). Upon the formation of the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration, he was appointed as Vice-Chairman in 2016.

Given his extensive experience in legal and governance field, Dr Neoh served as INED of various listed companies, as well as served as a Council Member of various universities in Hong Kong and the Mainland China. Dr Neoh is a notable barrister and also an arbitrator locally and internationally.

Dr Neoh started involving in the Institute’s affairs in early 2000s and was a Council member from 2001 to 2003, and a member of the Corporate Governance Panel from 2001 to 2002. He also dedicated much of his time to the Institute by being a speaker at the Institute’s conferences and seminars, including the biennial Corporate Governance Conference (CGC) in 2008, 2014 and 2016. In view of his in-depth knowledge and experience in the legal and governance aspects in Mainland China, he actively connects the Institute with regulators and provides valuable advice on promoting the governance profession in Mainland China.

Dr Neoh graduated with a law degree from London University in 1976. He was called to the English Bar and Hong Kong Bar also in 1976. He was also admitted in the California Bar in 1984. He started his full-time public service in the 1960s and his last appointment with the HKSAR Government was as an Assistant Director of the Independent Commission Against Corruption from 1976 to 1979.

Ms Cally Chan MH

General Manager, Microsoft Hong Kong and Macau

Cally Chan MH is the General Manager of Microsoft Hong Kong and Macau, and the lead of the company’s overall strategy and business operation, growing the team and focusing on business expansion in accelerating digital transformation for customers and partners.

Ms Chan strives to promote talent development and innovation and technology in Hong Kong. She has shouldered public duties for the government and many organizations, including the Council Member and Knowledge Transfer Committee Chairlady of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Board Member and Public Relations, Promotion Committee and Support Services Convenor of Employee Retraining Board, Board Member of Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre, Member of Transport Advisory Committee. Recognizing her significant contribution to Hong Kong innovation and technology ecosystem, Cally was awarded Medal of Honours in 2022.

Ms Chan holds an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Computing Science from the University of Hong Kong.

Mr Andrew Weir MBE JP

Regional Senior Partner, KPMG in Hong Kong; Vice Chairman, KPMG China; Global Chair, Asset Management and Real Estate, KPMG International

Andrew Weir MBE JP is the Global Head of Asset Management and is also the Global Head of Real Estate at KPMG and sits on the Global Clients and Markets Steering Group, the Global Financial Services Leadership Team and the Client Advisory Board. Mr Weir has over 35 years of professional experience servicing listed companies, financial services, public bodies, investment funds, and family offices in Hong Kong, UK, China, Asia, and the Middle East across a broad range of sectors.

Mr Weir is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow and an elected Council Member of the ICAEW and of the Institute of Directors and is a Fellow of the HKICPA. He has a keen interest in corporate governance, board leadership and the role of business in the community. He chairs the KPMG Board Leadership Centre and leads the quarterly KPMG Independent Non-Executive Directors Forum since its inception in 2010. He is a regular speaker at forums, universities and business schools on emerging business topics, strategy, risk and governance.

Mr Weir was Regional Senior Partner of KPMG in Hong Kong (SAR) and Vice-Chairman of KPMG China and on the Executive Committee from 2011 to 2023 and was the Chair of the Audit Management Board. He has served in a number of senior national, regional and global roles with KPMG. He chairs KPMG’s UK-China corridor, leading efforts to establish greater linkages between Chinese, UK and International business and investment partners and initiated the KPMG Middle East-China corridor. He was previously Head of Capital Markets, KPMG China, and ASPAC Head of Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare and ASPAC Head of Asset Management and Real Estate.

Mr Weir has significant experience in Financial Services and Capital Markets. He was appointed by the HKSAR Government and served for 6 years on the Financial Services Development Council (FSDC) He is now the appointed Deputy Chairman, Chairman of its Governance Committee and has sat on its Market Development Committee. He helped introduce the new Family Office regime and is appointed to the Advisory Board to the Hong Kong Academy of Wealth Legacy. He is Chairman of the Listing Review Committee of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and previously chaired the Listing Committee of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and during his 6 years tenure introduced major capital market reforms and launched the HKEX innovative companies, ESG and Diversity initiatives.

Mr Weir has a particular focus on trade and international business. He is appointed by the HKSAR Government as Chairman of the Global Belt and Road Forum comprising over 160 international organisations and is Chairman of Pacific Basin Economic Council, a leading pan regional trade think-tank. Hewas previously appointed by the HKSAR Government for 6 years as a Council Member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and of the Finance Committee. He is appointed to the Government’s Greater Bay Area Belt and Road Committee.

In the community, Mr Weir is a Steward and Board Member of The Hong Kong Jockey Club and chairs its Audit Committee and sits on its Finance Committee and Investment Committee. He is currently Chairman of the Supervisory Board of, and was previously Chairman of, the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Plan International. He has served as a Director of Asia Pacific Real Estate Association, Asian Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles and of Community Business Leadership Council as well as a member of the International Business Council.

Mr Weir was made an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2017 for his contribution to trade and investment links between Hong Kong, China and the UK and was awarded Director of the Year by the Institute of Directors for his services to the NGO sector. He is a Justice of the Peace. He has a Master degree in Economic Development and an Honours degree in Economics.

Professor Christine Loh SBS JP OBE Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite

Chief Development Strategist, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

Professor Christine Loh SBS JP OBE Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite, is Chief Development Strategist, Institute for the Environment at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She was Under Secretary for the Environment in the HKSAR Government (2012-17), Special Consultant to the Chief Executive on the mainland’s ecological civilization policy (2019-20), and a Member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council (1992-97 and 1998-20).

Professor Loh has been active in public policy and politics since the 1980s. She founded and was the CEO of the non-profit think tank, Civic Exchange (2000-12), and helped to establish several non-profit organizations in Hong Kong related to the environment, equal opportunity, and arts and culture.

Professor Loh is currently a board member of CDP Worldwide, Global Maritime Forum, New Forests Pty Ltd, Towngas Smart Energy Company Limited, and is Asia Society’s Scholar in Residence (2023-24). She taught a course at Anderson School of Management, University of California at Los Angeles on nonmarket risks for five years (2018-22). She is a published author of many academic and popular works.

Professor Loh is a lawyer by training, and a commodities trader by profession. She received her legal training in England and received honorary degrees of Doctor of Law from the University of Hull and Doctor of Science from the University of Exeter.

Ms Gill Meller FCG HKFCG(PE)

International Vice President, The Chartered Governance Institute; Past President, HKCGI; and Legal and Governance Director, MTR Corporation Limited

Gill Meller FCG HKFCG(PE) is MTR Corporation Limited’s Legal and Governance Director. Ms Meller is responsible for overseeing the Company’s legal, company secretarial, insurance and risk management functions and a central procurement and supply chain function. She is also responsible for leading the Company’s assurance function with the aim of providing a strengthened second line of defence across key risk areas of the Company and for leading MTR’s overall ESG strategy.

Ms Meller graduated from Hertford College, University of Oxford and obtained her postgraduate qualifications in law from The College of Law in the United Kingdom. She is qualified to practise as a solicitor in Hong Kong and England and Wales.

Ms Meller is a Vice Chairman of the Legal Committee of The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce; an International Vice President of The Chartered Governance Institute and a Past President and Ex-officio Council Member of The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute. She is also a member of the Listing Committee of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and an Independent Director of the Hong Kong, China Rugby.

Mr Nicholas Charles Allen

Independent Non-executive Director, CLP Holdings Limited; and Independent Non-executive Director, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX)

Mr Nicholas Charles Allen is currently an independent non-executive director of CLP Holdings Limited and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (both of which are listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange) and a non-executive director of The London Metal Exchange and LME Clear Limited (both of which are members of HKEX group). Mr Allen is also an independent non-executive director of Mordril Properties Limited (a private property company based in Hong Kong).

Mr Allen previously served as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Link Asset Management Limited from February 2016 to July 2024 and the Chair of the Board from April 2016 to July 2024. In addition to these roles, he was also the chair of the Finance and Investment Committee and the Nomination Committee and was a member of the Audit and Risk Management Committee of Link Asset Management Limited. Furthermore, he was an independent non-executive director of Hysan Development Company Limited, Lenovo Group Limited (both of which are listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange) and VinaLand Limited (which was listed on the AIM of the London Stock Exchange). He was also an independent non-executive director of Stevin Rock LLC and RAK Rock LLC (both being private quarry companies located in the United Arab Emirates).

Mr Allen has extensive experience in accounting and auditing as well as securities and regulatory matters. He retired as a partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2007.

Mr Allen served on the Securities and Futures Appeals Panel, the Takeovers and Mergers Panel, the Takeovers Appeal Committee, the Share Registrars’ Disciplinary Committee of the SFC and as member of various committees of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He was an honorary advisor to the Financial Reporting Council of Hong Kong and a director of Vision 2047 Foundation.

The Honourable Bernard Charnwut Chan GBM GBS JP

Chairman and President, Asia Financial Holdings Limited and Chairman, Asia Insurance Company Limited

A graduate of Pomona College in California, The Honourable Bernard Charnwut Chan GBM GBS JP is the Chairman and President of the publicly-listed Asia Financial Holdings and Chairman of Asia Insurance. The Honourable Mr Chan is Chairman of the Hong Kong – Thailand Business Council and an advisor to Bangkok Bank (China) Co. Ltd. Mr Chan sits on the boards of several local and overseas companies in financial services and is a director of Bumrungrad Hospital Public Company in Thailand.

Mr Chan has a long record of public service. He is Chairperson of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service and Steward of The Hong Kong Jockey Club. A patron of the arts, he is Chairman of M Plus Museum Ltd. and Tai Kwun Culture & Arts Co. Ltd. He is also Chairman of Our Hong Kong Foundation and Chairman of the Hong Kong Chronicles Institute.

Mr Chan was a Hong Kong Deputy to the National People’s Congress of The People’s Republic of China (2008-2023) and the previous Convenor of the Non-Official Members of the Executive Council (2017-2022). He is a former non-official member of Hong Kong’s Executive Council (2004-09 and 2012-2022) and former member of Hong Kong’s Legislative Council (1998-2008) representing the insurance industry.

Other past positions including Council Chair of Lingnan University, Chairman of the Hong Kong Palace Museum Ltd., Chairman of the Council for Sustainable Development, Chairman of the Antiquities Advisory Board, Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Revitalisation of Historic Buildings and Chairman of the two Standing Committees on Disciplined Services and Judicial Salaries and Conditions of Service.

Mr Chan has been conferred honorary degrees from Lingnan University, City University of Hong Kong, Open University of Hong Kong and Savannah College of Art and Design. He is also a Trustee Emeritus of Pomona College.

Mr Chan was appointed a Justice of the Peace in 2002, and Commander (3rd Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand in 2004. In 2006, he was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong SAR Government, and in 2020 he received Hong Kong’s highest honor, the Grand Bauhinia Medal.

Ms Katherine Ng

Head of Listing

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX)

Ms Katherine Ng is the Head of Listing at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX). Ms Ng joined HKEX in 2013 as the Head of Policy of the Listing Division.

Prior to joining HKEX, Ms Ng served as Political Assistant to the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the Hong Kong Government, worked in an international investment bank and an international law firm in Hong Kong and London. She holds a Master of Arts in Law from Trinity College, University of Cambridge and is a qualified lawyer in both Hong Kong and England & Wales.

Ms Ng is currently an Advisor to Our Hong Kong Foundation, a Director of the World Wide Fund for Nature Hong Kong, a fellow of the Aspen Institute, a Member of the Hong Kong Academy of Finance and a senior fellow of Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (“HKSI”). She was a Director of HKSI from December 2014 to December 2022 and the Chairman between December 2018 to December 2021.

Edith Shih FCG(CS, CGP) HKFCG(CS, CGP)(PE), Solicitor, is Executive Director and Company Secretary of CK Hutchison Holdings Limited, a Fortune 500 company with operations in over 50 countries. Ms Shih has been with the CK Hutchison Group for over 30 years, overseeing legal, regulatory, corporate finance and compliance matters.

Ms Shih is the recipient of a number of awards in the legal field, including the first Hong Kong In-House Lawyer of the Year Award in 2006, the first Asian Woman in Business Law Award of the Legal Media Group in 2011, General Counsel of the Year Award of International Law Offices in 2014 and the Hong Kong In-House Lawyer Award of the Year in 2016.

Ms Shih holds Master’s degrees from Teacher’s College, Columbia University, and is qualified to practise law in England and Wales, Hong Kong and Victoria, Australia. She is also a fellow of The Chartered Governance Institute and the Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute. She was Past International President (2018 - 2020) and current Council Member of The Chartered Governance Institute and Past President (2011 – 2014) and Honorary Advisor of The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute.

In addition to her work commitment, she is the Chairman of the Process Review Panel of The Hong Kong Accounting and Financial Reporting Council, and Member of the Executive Committee and Council of Hong Kong Management Association. Further, she is a Trustee of Teachers College, Columbia University, Council Member of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Governor of the Board of the English Schools Foundation.
